The Social Poets: Obamas Axelrod, Bushs Rove: How Corrupt Are They? Have They Hurt The Country?

The Social Poets: Obamas Axelrod, Bushs Rove: How Corrupt Are They? Have They Hurt The Country?: From Denny:  If Obama's Axelrod's lips are moving, then it must be a lie.  Same goes for Bush's Rove.  They both have strongly demonstrated they are political opportunists and willing money whores, selling out to the highest bidder.

For more than the past four years I've watched this political strategist called David Axelrod.  He claims to be a Democrat but has yet to convince me this is true.

Like I said, his lips are moving but his deeds say different.  What has happened is that he has been found out in so many lies, misstatements and half-truths that they are piled so high upon one another like a pile of bones on a weathered battlefield - out in the open for all to see.

His latest gaffe is "leaking national security secrets" like the special computer virus that so annoyed the Iran regime at their nuclear facilities.  Of course, he "protests too much" that everyone strongly suspects he personally did it.

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Way 4 U.S. Govt 2 Handle Mexican Drug Smugglers: From Denny:  Take a peek inside a living room as Middle Class America watches the news, offering up outrageous solutions to the nation's ills.

For decades, Mexican drug smugglers have been devising all kinds of effective methods to penetrate the American coastline.  The news anchor seems to think the various government agencies have proven effective at containing the Mexican drug smugglers on land.

Lately - yes, this is a real news story - the smugglers have turned to retrofitting simple Mexican fishing boats with multiple engines to skim across the water so fast you might blink your eyes and miss them.

Apparently, the Coast Guard and other government agencies working in unison, are on watch every night, seeking out the more than several dozen runs by the smugglers all along the California coastline.

This news clip shows how the law enforcement agencies are successful, and arresting all kinds of smugglers, all lined up for The Perp Walk.

Yeah, Middle America is sitting on the couch taking it all in, fidgeting with the remote, when a stellar idea pops into their heads.  All that arrest business sure is a lot of unnecessary work.  We have a more effective solution of how to deal with these cheesy Mexican smugglers.

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Interviews Losing Lawyer On Supreme Court Strip Search Case

Jon Stewart

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Interviews Losing Lawyer On Supreme Court Strip Search Case: From Denny:  Check out Jon Stewart in this unusual interview of the lawyer who lost the most important case for the world.

If you get arrested for a speeding ticket, jaywalking, a bell too quiet on your bicycle and other minor offences, then you all get arrested and strip searched by the police as a matter of regular procedure. Yes, America has entered the world of the outrageous.

America, as you know it, no longer exists as we are now officially a police state.  Americans have lost the majority of our rights - like civil rights, privacy rights, and just about everything else they could take.  All our rights have slowly eroded since 9/11 out of the fear of terrorism.

Police now possess sweeping, authoritarian, unlimited, absolute powers to do whatever they like to you, your spouse, your family, your children, your friends because it is all at the discretion of the police.  If a cop is having a bad day then expect yours to get a lot worse too because there is nothing to stop him.

The Social Poets: Funny Late Nite Jokes About GOP Rick Santorum

The Social Poets: Funny Late Nite Jokes About GOP Rick Santorum: From Denny: At the beginning of this leap year month it was "Rick Santorum -who?!" In just the past two weeks he climbed the GOP primary charts. With that sudden rise in popularity came the late night jokes to prove he was noticed by national voters.

Of course, never mind he achieved that notice by screaming out the most weirdo conservative positions. He took a page out of the Gingrich Playbook. If it worked for him, maybe it would work for Santorum.

Then came the rambling undisciplined speeches from Santorum that left the voters wondering what he said. Republican political strategists wildly started pulling out their already thinning hair at the notion of Santorum making it to their convention.

Forget my fellow journalists. The best guys to vett any political candidates are the comedians in my book. Since I'm the publishing and journalism industry's dreaded hybrid they have yet to catch up to or understand, - a journalist blogger - I'm delivering the unvarnished truth to my loyal readers with a dash of spicy opinion and a liberal dose of humor. After all, who said we can't enjoy some funnies along with our consideration of who we will consider not voting for in the November election?

The Social Poets: 2012 GOP Taliban: Politically Clueless Gaffes

The Social Poets: 2012 GOP Taliban: Politically Clueless Gaffes: From Denny: What a week. The comics could not ask for better material. It was handed to them on a silver platter. And the Obama White House aides are dancing in the halls because they cannot believe their good fortune.

Don't get cocky, guys, it might not last. Besides, there are always the fast rising fuel prices to torpedo what you thought was an easy win.

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Political Thought About Romney

Mitt Romney - Caricature

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Political Thought About Romney: From Denny: Since I could care less who wins or who loses the GOP race for president, I'm free to mock it in style.

At our house we were watching the GOP primary returns for the last three states of Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. Much to everyone's surprise it was the non-candidate Santorum that ran away with two of the races.

Though delegates were not awarded it is Santorum that has basically caught up with front-runner Mitt Romney by about 86 for Santorum to 94 delegates for Romeny. The winner needs about 700 to win.

Santorum, a Catholic, has sharpened his message to be known as the middle class guy and conservative. Romney is painted as the rich guy who is out of touch.

Lately, since getting trounced in the last race Romney is working hard to overcome the perception by portraying himself as a sensitive guy. He even laid claim to being a Mormon minister for 10 years and how he truly understands the unemployed and marital difficulties as a result of not being able to pay your bills.

So, here is my I'm Just Saying:

The Social Poets: Prez Gingrich? Why Not And 2nd Wife Tells All 2

The Social Poets: Prez Gingrich? Why Not And 2nd Wife Tells All 2: From Denny: Fresh off a primary win from South Carolina it's clear that the conservative block of the Republican Party and the Moral Majority are as amoral as their favorite candidate, Newt Gingrich. Newt enjoys a mean-spirited reputation among conservatives and they are lapping it up.

Watch Newtie chastise the debate press for daring to speak the truth or ask him about the truth of who he truly is. The bully is hard-charging, defying and terrorizing all in his way.

Vett Newtie? Are you kidding? He is bullying the media - and his supporters are screaming for more. Perversion and cruelty are now celebrated as wonderful, embodied in the person of Newt Gingrich.

The Social Poets: More Empty Promises: Obama 2012 State of the Union Address

State of the Union address 2012

The Social Poets: More Empty Promises: Obama 2012 State of the Union Address: From Denny: The usual suspects reared up for notice, slickly detailed into the typical State of the Union Address. Yes, it's an election year all right.

President Obama made yet more promises to get votes. If these promises are anything like his last three years of promises, then don't go looking for anything to happen at all.

When the promise details are out of public sight for this Obama administration, then that means the promises are out of their mind to get done. With Team Obama it's all about sounding the right tone, delivering the inspirational speech, then sitting down on the job and turning their attention away from the country's dire problems, hoping no one is watching.

What were the promises?

The Social Poets: Funny 2012 Election Late Nite Jokes and Videos

Moneybomb advertising often makes use of inver...

The Social Poets: Funny 2012 Election Late Nite Jokes and Videos: From Denny: With the holiday season yesterday's news, it's time to catch up on the hilarious jokes from the late night comics about the GOP candidates and their utterly lame "debates." These are all the jokes from December 2011 and half of January 2012.

As the political season wears on - and wears out the goodwill of the public - the jokes will only get sharper as the political attacks get nastier. Put on your hockey face mask as the Zingers are about to get hurled at you from every angle during the next 11 months.

All the major news networks are now calling for some serious fact-checking on those GOP claims pooped out onto the airwaves.

You know it's really bad when the mainstream news starts complaining about the very guys who buy the ads on their networks that they encouraged to behave so badly in the first place. Do you think it might have something to do with the fact the majority of the public is not paying attention to those silly debates?

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Interview: Prez Clinton Talks Fixing Global Economy, New Book

Bill Clinton

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Interview: Prez Clinton Talks Fixing Global Economy, New Book: From Denny: President Bill Clinton sits down for in-depth interview with Jon Stewart on what it will take to revive the American economy and create jobs. His new book, "Back To Work," (Why We Need Smart Government For A Strong Economy) lays out specific plans for doing just that, recommending several strategies to current President Barack Obama.

In fact, just recently the Obama political hacks, Axelrod and Plouffe, met with President Clinton in the hopes to help the 2012 campaign. Yes, the same political hacks that have F'd up this economy by advising Obama to cater only to the Republicans and ignore Democratic principles to help the middle class. Those same guys that the Democratic Party should throw from the train.

The Social Poets: Report: Up For Auction, Who Is Buying Up Our State Judges?

On the AirImage by M.V. Jantzen via FlickrThe Social Poets: Report: Up For Auction, Who Is Buying Up Our State Judges?: From Denny: Author Charles Hall, of the report "Justice At Stake, Interest Groups Dominate Judicial-Election Spending " and Landon Rowland, Chairman Emeritus of the Janus Capital Group discuss America's bought government and the rapid pace to buy up our legal system on the Dylan Ratigan Show.

Our politics are rigged and now our legal system, via state court elections, is getting bought up as well by money interests. The federal system of judges have to be appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate but the state and county level is far easier to purchase - with no oversight to detect it or enforce if judges have been compromised.

The danger is that money interests are frantically busy right now buying up state and county judges for influence and arm twisting so they can win in court. It's the Koch Brothers, and other special interest groups, who figured out that the majority of the law in America is decided on the smaller legal levels and they seek to corrupt that system.

The Social Poets: Funny Late Nite Jokes: GOP Gaffer Rick Perry

Rick Perry

The Social Poets: Funny Late Nite Jokes: GOP Gaffer Rick Perry: From Denny: GOP 2012 candidate Rick Perry has been stepping on his tongue ever since he entered the race.

Considering how we here in Louisiana feel about the next door neighbor's bullying Texas culture, we Cajun types affectionately call "Shit Kickers," it could not have happened to a better politician.

After all, who has empathy for the guy who thought the BP Oil Spill was good event planning?

Dennys Funny Quotes: Funny Daily Show Comic John Oliver Interviews Occupy Wall Street Protesters

John Oliver, photo taken on October 11, 2009, ...Image via Wikipedia

Dennys Funny Quotes: Funny Daily Show Comic John Oliver Interviews Occupy Wall Street Protesters: From Denny: The Daily Show's British comic, John Oliver, goes out into the Occupy Wall Street crowd to try and identify with their emerging culture. Over 57 percent of America agrees with this protest. But, John Oliver asks, do we have what it takes to be a part of this protest?

Oliver explores the odd hand language that has emerged during the movement. It seems strange to wriggle your fingers in the air, either up for approval, down for disapproval or wriggling in the middle zone for "not real crazy about that idea, folks."

The truth is these are some clever folks. They have created inventive ways around the New York City restrictions on noise levels, no use of amplification devices and the like officials have tried to use against them to discourage and hamper the protests. All it has done is grow the protest crowds - and stretch their imagination.

The Social Poets: New American Revolution: Protests Rampant Against Wall Street Nationwide

The Social Poets: New American Revolution: Protests Rampant Against Wall Street Nationwide: Check out this from the 99 Percent site: "We are the 99 percent. We are getting kicked out of our homes. We are forced to choose between groceries and rent. We are denied quality medical care. We are suffering from environmental pollution. We are working long hours for little pay and no rights, if we're working at all. We are getting nothing while the other 1 percent is getting everything. We are the 99 percent."

The Social Poets: Late Nite Jokes Roundup: Comics Mock 2012 Politics, Faster Load

The Social Poets: Late Nite Jokes Roundup: Comics Mock 2012 Politics, Faster Load:

From Denny: Start off your work week laughs with America's favorite comics. These are all their best jokes for September 2011.

They cover everything from Labor Day, former VP Dick Cheney's new book (Fabrication of Outrageous Lies), President Obama and Speaker Boehner arguing over when the president can give a speech because it might interfere with a lame GOP debate or American football.

We all know which one of those events is most important. :)

The GOP candidates and their strange debates where the audience cheers how many people were executed in Texas this year is a slam dunk for the comics. And the Independents are edging farther and farther away from the GOP, yet, strangely enough, not moving toward Obama and the Democrats either.

Can this be the year ol' Ralph Nader finally succeeds if he makes his bid for the presidency?

Not to be missed are the continuing Sarah Palin jokes. For someone who insists upon being so one-dimensional it sure is amazing just how jokes are manufactured about her.

The Social Poets: 9-11 Stories Roundup: How Is America 10 Years Later?

Reuters photo/John Kehe illustration

The Social Poets: 9-11 Stories Roundup: How Is America 10 Years Later?:

From Denny: Every year when this date comes we all pause and remember those whose lives were taken quickly and horribly. We mourn for those left behind and pray for them to find their way in life.

For the youngest generation this event is a moment seared upon their memory, remembering where they were when America was struck by terrorism and the Twin Towers fell. Included here is an article of how to talk to children about the attack.

Not all associated with this terrible event is sadness, despair and sorrow. Whether survivors, or families and friends of the fallen, many have discovered the well of strength within themselves. Others have started charities and foundations to honor not the dead but the lives of the victims, promoting their life philosophies and initiatives. Stories of wonderful inspiring people have been shared in the news and memorials for the world to remember.

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 12 June 2011

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Posts Roundup at Dennys Blogs - 12 June 2011: "From Denny: Check out what has been happening in the world of news, comedy, food, poetry, photography, art, music and more. In the past month a whirlwind of news occurred. World terrorist Osama bin Laden was hunted down and killed in a resort town in Pakistan where he had been hiding for the past six years. Supposedly, the Pakistanis were unaware of his presence there. Yeah? And I've got some swamp land in Louisiana to sell you too.

President Obama got a nice bump in approval ratings for about a week and then that fizzled as he resumed his usual do-nothing stance on the economy. Obama also continued with poisonous politics aimed at his own Democrats, throwing them all under the bus in favor of Big Business."
